Emmett Kelly Joins Bill Callahan and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy on Cover of Air Supply’s ‘Lost In Love’

    Continuing their collaborative cover series, Bill Callahan and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy have enlisted The Cairo Gang’s Emmett Kelly for a cover of Air Supply’s ‘Lost In Love’. According to a press release, the cover was inspired by Greek singer Demis Roussos’ version of the 1980 hit. Check it out below.

    “emmett kelly made the bed, joshua abrams fluffed the pillows with his bass, Will Oldham and i couldn’t resist getting in and singing,” Callahan wrote of the cover on Twitter. Oldham added: My music brother Emmett Kelly fashioned this piece out of raw clay and baked love. @ BillCallaman and I sing it for you. We learned to love the song from Demis Roussos’s duet with Florence Warner.”

    Bill Callahan and Will Oldham have released a series of covers over the past few months, tackling songs by artists including Steely DanYusuf / Cat StevensDave RichBillie Eilish, Robert Wyatt, and Lou Reed. More recently, they recruited Ty Segall for a cover of Johnnie Frierson’s ‘Miracles’.
