Cosha and Shygirl Team Up on New Song ‘Lapdance From Asia’

Cosha has joined forces with Shygirl for a collaborative single titled ‘Lapdance From Asia’. The track was co-written with Zack Sekoff and Mura Masa and serves as the latest preview from the Irish singer-songwriter’s forthcoming project, which is slated for release this summer. Check it out below, alongside a Gilbert Bannerman-directed video.

The song started life as a beat made by Cosha, Mura Masa and Zek Sekoff in a studio overlooking the Hollywood Hills. “It was nighttime so you could see all the lights beneath you for miles. I wanted to make something that sounded like the view,” Cosha recalls. “I wanted to make something that sounded like the view. I didn’t want to let the moment go, carefree and happy. I wrote Lapdance from Asia to savour the taste.”

Of working with Shygirl, she added: “Me and Shy had been following each other for a while on IG and I think we recognised something in each other that we liked, definitely an energy that translated in the song and ultimately into our friendship.”

Back in November, Shygirl released her ALIAS EP, which landed on our Best EPs of 2020 list.
