Marissa Nadler Shares Two New Covers

Marissa Nadler has shared two new covers via Bandcamp, offering her take on Santo & Johnny’s ‘Sleepwalk’ and America’s ‘Lonely People’ with help from Milky Burgess (guitars, synth, dobro) and Don McGreevy (bass and drums). Check out both renditions below.

“Two different covers for you! I love Sleepwalk in all its versions and thought it would be soothing to do,” Nadler wrote on Bandcamp. “Also, I just wanted Lonely People – I hadn’t really realized the song was so lyrically optimistic until I sang it a bunch, but you know I decided it was a good thing right now!”

‘Sleepwalk’ originally appeared on Santo & Johnny’s self-titled 1959 album, while ‘Lonely People’ is taken from America’s 1974 album Holiday. Marissa Nadler surprise-released her Moons EP last summer. She recently teamed up with Lost Horizons on their song ‘Marie’.
