BABii has shared a new single titled ‘SHADOW’. Released to coincide with Lunar New Year (February 12), the track arrives with an accompanying video directed by BABii and Johnny Goddard. Check it out below.
BABii writes in the video’s description:
A MYSTERiiOUS SPiiRiiT DOOMED THE RUSTiiNG SCRAPYARD WiiTH LiiFE AND A BABY WAS BORN FROM THE TWiiSTED METAL OF CRUSHED MACHiiNERY AND THE BRUiiSED COLOURS OF ENGiiNE OiiL. AND SHE SOFTLY FELT THE LOSS OF A GUARDiiAN WHO WAS NEVER THERE. SHE WAS CURSED WiiTH AN ASPHALT HEART AND DiiESEL TAiiNTED BLOOD. EVERY WOUND AND SPiiLT DROPLET OF FOSSiiL OiLED BLOOD BROUGHT LiiFE TO A DEMON, WHO HAUNTED HER AND BECAME HER SHADOW FOR ALL ETERNiiTY.”
She continues, “MANY DEMONS LATER, SHE CAME FACE TO FACE WiiTH A MYSTERiiOUS AND UNSETTELiiNG SPiiRiiT. A LOOMiiNG DRAGON LiiKE DEMON THAT FiiLLED THE DEEP GREY SKY WiiTH iiTS WiiNDiiNG BODY AND WAS DENSE WiiTH BLACK FOG AND FLECKED WiiTH BRiiGHT FiiREY EMBERS. LiiiTLE DiiD SHE KNOW THAT THiiS DEMON HAD BEEN iiN HER SHADOWS FOR HER ENTiiRE EXiiSTENCE, YET iiT WAS ONLY NOW iiT WAS NO LONGER iiNViiSiiBLE TO HER.
‘SHADOW’ is BABii‘s first release since the December 2020 track ‘THE BLAZE’ featuring SEBii. She followed up her 2019 debut album HiiDe with an EP called iii+ last year.
