Bill Callahan, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, and Cassie Berman Cover Silver Jews’ ‘The Wild Kindness’

    Bill Callahan and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy are continuing their collaborative cover series with a special rendition of ‘The Wild Kindness’ by the late David Berman’s band Silver Jews. The cover features David’s former wife and Silver Jews bandmate Cassie Berman on bass, along with David Pajo on guitar, Tony Crow on keyboards, and Brian Kotzur on drums, and guest vocals from a host of artists including Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux), Meg Baird, and Matt Sweeney.     ‘The Wild Kindness’ appeared as the closing track on Silver Jews’ 1998 album American Water. Over the past few months, Bill Callahan and Will Oldham have tackled songs by Steely DanYusuf / Cat StevensDave RichBillie Eilish, Robert Wyatt, Lou Reed, Johnnie Frierson, Air Supply, and more. Earlier this month, they enlisted Squirrel Bait’s David Grubbs for a cover of Leonard Cohen‘s ‘The Night of Santiago’.
