Taylor Swift Calls Out ‘Ginny & Georgia’ For “Lazy, Deeply Sexist Joke”

Taylor Swift has called out the Netflix show Ginny & Georgia, sharing a statement in response to a line of dialogue in the final episode of the show’s first season. When Georgia asks Ginny if she’s broken up with her boyfriend, Ginny retorts, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”

After the hashtag #RESPECTTAYLORSWIFT trended on Twitter over the weekend, Swift wrote alongside a screenshot of the subtitled dialogue: “Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY.”

She also directly called out the streaming platform, which distributed her 2020 documentary Miss Americana. “Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you. Happy Women’s History Month I guess.”
