Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak Share First Single as Silk Sonic

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have shared their first song as Silk Sonic after teasing their new collaborative project last week. ‘Leave the Door Open’ was produced by Mars and D’Mile, and written by Bruno, Anderson, D’Mile, and Brody Brown. The track is the first preview from an upcoming album titled An Evening With Silk Sonic and comes with an accompanying video co-directed by Mars and Florent Dechard. Check it out below, along with an intro track from the project’s “special guest host” Bootsy Collins.

An Evening With Silk Sonic is set to come out later this year, but no release date has yet been announced. Anderson .Paak opened for Bruno Mars on the European leg of his 24K Magic tour in 2017. Around that time, the pair reportedly worked together on new material at Abbey Road with Disclosure and Nile Rodgers. Mars has yet to follow up 2016’s 24K Magic; Anderson .Paak’s last album was 2019’s Ventura.
