Christian Lee Hutson Covers the Cure, Liz Phair, and Bruce Springsteen for ‘The Version Suicides’

    Los Angeles musician Christian Lee Hutson has released the second volume in his cover series The Version Suicides (via ANTI-). Hear his take on the Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’ (with help from Shamir), Liz Phair’s ‘Why Can’t I’, and Bruce Springsteen’s ‘I’m Going Down’ below.

    For Vol. 1 of the project, Hutson covered songs by Taylor Swift, ABBA, and Vanessa Carlton. He had previously shared a now-unlisted trio of Blink-182, Sum 41, and Kid Cudi covers, billed as Vol. 4 and released as part of a Bandcamp Fridays promotion to raise money for Downtown Women’s Center. His most recent full-length album, the Phoebe Bridgers-produced Beginners, came out last year.
