Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy have shared a new song called ‘My Blue Suit’. The track is the latest single from their upcoming LP Superwolves and it arrives with a music video directed by Geoff McFetridge. The pair have also announced a series of shows set to take place in June in California. Check out the full list of dates and listen to ‘My Blue Suit’ below.
Of the video, McFetridge explained in a statement: “I started this video by painting. The work I created, in response to the song, was large scale figures I could use in scenes filmed on camera. All the images in the film are done in camera, there are no digital effects. The graphic sequences were done with paintings wrapped around a garbage can placed on a Techniques 1200 turntable. The tools used to create the effects were knives, glue, paint and tape.”
Superwolves, which arrives April 30 via Drag City, is Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s second collaborative album, following 2005’s Superwolf. Along with the LP’s announcement last month, they shared the single ‘Hall of Death’.
