Phoebe Bridgers Joins Luminous Kid on New Song ‘Mountain Crystals’

Luminous Kid, the project of Swedish singer-songwriter, photographer, and visual artist Olof Grind, has enlisted Phoebe Bridgers for a new song called ‘Mountain Crystals’. Bridgers contributes spoken word on the track, which comes with an accompanying video directed by Luminous Kid. Check it out below.

‘Mountain Crystals’ is the lead single from Luminous Kid’s upcoming debut album at the end of the dream, which arrives on April 23. Luminous Kid first collaborated with Bridgers while shooting the cover artwork for her 2020 album Punisher in the California desert, which you can read about in our Behind the Artwork interview with Olof Grind. ‘Mountain Crystals’ was written in Los Angeles after Grind was invited by Bridgers to a party at Conor Oberst’s house.

“I think the more role models and queer experiences that exist in popular culture, the better,” Luminous Kid said of the song. “If a song or a work of art can make a sad and trapped young queer person feel better about themselves, then it is a step in the right direction.”
