The Joy Formidable Return with New Song ‘Into the Blue’

The Joy Formidable have returned with their first new music in three years. The Welsh rock band’s latest is called ‘Into The Blue’ and it arrives with an accompanying video created by the band and featuring animation from TRLLM. Check it out below.

The new track was written in Wales but recorded in the group’s current home of Utah. “‘Into the Blue’ is about surrendering to love and magic,” lead vocalist and guitarist Ritzy Bryan said in a statement. “Having the courage to enjoy a new journey and the mystery and excitement of something unexpected. It’s about opening your eyes to beauty and love again. Making it to the other side. Whilst not conceived as a metaphor for the times we all live in now, it certainly turned out that way.”

Commenting on the music video, Bryan added: “I am always daydreaming in the bathtub between recordings. That diffuse thinking where your mind wanders freely – I always finish songs when I’m in that state. The idea that your imagination, that escape into another, deeper world can sometimes create a stronger connection with yourself.”

The Joy Formidable’s last album, AAARTH, was released in September 2018.
