Big Thief have offered their take on the Breeders’ ‘Off You’. The cover appears on the forthcoming 4AD compilation Bills & Aches & Blues. Take a listen below.
Bills & Aches & Blues is out this Friday (April 2) digitally and July 23 physically, with a deluxe vinyl box set coming later this year. The collection sees the Breeders, U.S. Girls, Tkay Maidza, Future Islands, Big Thief, and 13 other artists currently on 4AD‘s roster covering songs from the long-running indie label’s catalog. The Breeders previously released a rendition of His Name Is Alive’s ‘The Dirt Eaters’, while Bradford Cox and Tune-Yards’ took on the Breeders’ ‘Mountain Battles’ and ‘Cannonball’ respectively.
In addition to Big Thief’s cover, the last entry from the compilation also features SOHN doing Tim Buckley, Becky And The Birds’ covering Bon Iver, and Ex:Re covering Blonde Redhead. You can those out below, too.
