L’Rain Announces New Album ‘Fatigue’, Unveils New Song ‘Two Face’

L’Rain, the musical project of Brooklyn-based experimentalist and multi-instrumentalist Taja Cheek, has announced a new album. Fatigue, the follow-up to L’Rain’s self-titled 2017 debut, arrives on June 25 via her new label Mexican Summer. She’s also released the album’s lead single, ‘Two Face’, alongside a video created using volumetric video technology and real-time rendering by Reese Donohue of Tempo Studio. Check it out below and scroll down for the album’s cover artwork and tracklist.

“This is a song about a falling out with a friend,” L’Rain said in a statement about the track. “The friend was a gemini, hence the title “Two Face.” The song is a disjointed imaginary conversation between us. The “spooky” parts of the song have the most optimistic lyrics, and the “sunny” parts have the bleakest lyrics. The song is mostly a reflection on regret, because the dissolution of our friendship was absolutely my fault and it still haunts me.”
