Roughly a week following the passing of legendary rapper DMX, a new collaboration of his featuring Swizz Beatz and French Montana has been released. The track, titled ‘Been to War’, appears on the soundtrack of the upcoming Epix original series, Godfather of Harlem, starring Forest Whitaker. Listen to it below.
DMX died on April 9 following a reported drug overdose and subsequent heart attack. Countless artists, friends, and collaborators from the music world took to social media to pay tribute to the New York rap icon, including Swizz Beatz, who posted a video on Instagram calling him a “different type of artist, different type of creative, different type of soul.”
