Secretly Canadian has announced a fundraising campaign celebrating its 25th anniversary. The label plans to raise $250,000 for Bloomington non-profit organization New Hope For Families through a slate of physical reissues and exclusive singles, starting with two new covers from Stella Donnelly and Porridge Radio. Check out Donnelly’s cover of Jens Lekman’s ‘If I Could Cry (it would feel like this)’ and Porridge Radio’s version of Scout Niblett’s ‘Wet Road’ below.
SC25 Singles will include a total of 25 songs. As part of the SC25 Editions campaign, the label will be releasing 12 limited-edition reissues in three instalments throughout the year, along with essays from artists and writers about each album. The first four that are available for pre-order are Jens Lekman’s When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog, The War On Drugs’ Wagonwheel Blues, Tig Notaro’s Live, and Whitney’s Light Upon the Lake.
