Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia’s new TV series From Cradle to Stage has gotten a premiere date. The first episode of the show will air on Paramount+ on Thursday, May 6, which is Mother’s Day in the US. Check out a teaser for the series below.
The six-episode From Cradle to Stage is directed by Dave Grohl and based on his mother’s 2017 book of the same name. Guests on the show will include Pharrell and Dr. Carolyn Williams, Miranda and Bev Lambert, Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and Christine Reynolds, Brandi and Teresa Carlile, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello and Mary Morello, and Rush’s Geddy Lee with his mother Mary Weinrib.
“I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse,” Dave Grohl said of the series in a statement. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”
Earlier this month, Grohl unveiled the trailer for his forthcoming documentary about touring and vans, What Drives Us. He also joined forces with Mick Jagger on their collaborative track ‘Eazy Sleazy’.
