New DMX Album ‘Exodus’ Set for Release This Month

A posthumous DMX album has been announced: Exodus arrives on May 28 via Def Jam. The record was executive produced and produced by Swizz Beats and will mark the first DMX album for the label since 2003’s Grand Champ. Check out the cover art, by photographer Jonathan Mannion, below.

“My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met,” Swizz Beats said in a press release. “He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”

In an interview on NORE’s Drink Champs podcast prior to his death, the legendary rapper said the album would feature guest appearances from Bono, Usher, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, the Griselda crew, and the late Pop Smoke. A tracklist for Exodus has yet to be revealed, but Def Jam claims the album will include “all original material.”
