The Vaccines Release New Single ‘Headphones Baby’

The Vaccines are back with a new single called ‘Headphones Baby’. It’s the first teaser from their upcoming fifth LP, which has yet to be officially announced. Give it a listen below.

“Sometimes life can leave you feeling numb and desperate to feel something,” frontman Justin Young told NME. “‘Headphones Baby’ is about creating an escape from that – plugging in to plug out and cocooning yourself from the reality of the outside world in the warm embrace of somebody else’s mind. The song should sound like a fireworks display – a call to arms. And if you want life to feel like it’s permanently in technicolor then we might know where you can find it…”

Recorded in El Paso, Texas in early 2020 with producer Daniel Ledinsky, the Vaccines’ fifth album will follow 2018’s Combat Sports. “I just feel everyone was at our best, everyone really brought their A-game,” Young said of the record in our interview back in March. “I don’t think we could have made a better record – I probably say that after every record, but I truly feel it at the moment.”

Earlier this year, the Vaccines released the Cosy Karaoke EP as well as the 10th-anniversary edition of their debut album What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?
