Moritz von Oswald Trio – whose new lineup includes Detroit-via-Berlin artist Laurel Halo and jazz drummer Heinrich Köbberling – have announced a new album. Dissent is out August 6 via BMG’s new classical/jazz/electronic imprint Modern Recordings. Along with the announcement, the trio have also previewed the album with the new track ‘Chapter 4’. Dissent marks Moritz von Oswald Trio’s first new album in five years. Their last LP, 2015’s Sounding Lines, featured a lineup of von Oswald, Max Loderbauer, and Tony Allen. The new album was recorded during November and December 2020 in Berlin and emerged from a series of long extended jams that were then edited down.
