Bachelor Announce Doomin’ Sun Fest Featuring Courtney Barnett, Sylvan Esso, Japanese Breakfast, and More

Bachelor, the collaborative project of Jay Som’s Melina Duterte and Palehound’s Ellen Kempner, have announced a one-day livestream event called Doomin’ Sun Fest. Marking their debut performance as a group, Bachelor will be performing their upcoming album in full. Tegan & Sara, Tune-Yards, Vagabon, Soccery Mommy, Lucy Dacus, Courtney Barnett, Benjamin Gibbard, Adrianne Lenker, Jeff Tweedy, Faye Webster, Japanese Breakfast, Julien Baker, and more are also set to perform. Check out the complete lineup below.

Doomin’ Sun Fest will take place on June 10 from 11pm BST (6pm ET), followed by a virtual afterparty inside the 3D social game Hotel Hideaway. The concert will be free to attent, but donations will be encouraged to Seeding Sovereignty, an Indigenous-led collective that “works to radicalize and disrupt colonized spaces through land, body, food sovereignty, community building, and cultural preservation.”

In a statement, Bachelor said the festival is a chance for “Community, Compassion, Climate, and Celebration.” They added: “Basically we just wanna have fun celebrating our album release, raise funds for Seeding Sovereignty, and get people excited about donating and opening their hearts to themes of the fest – the “4 C’s” as we call them – that are driving this endeavor.”
