Power Trip Singer Riley Gale’s Cause of Death Revealed

Riley Gale, frontman for Texas thrash metal band Power Trip, died last year at age 34. Now, as Rolling Stone reports, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that Gale died from pulmonary edema as a result of the toxic effects of fentanyl. Gale’s autopsy report, first obtained by the YouTube channel Heavy Metal Picker, noted his “history of Xanax abuse” and “history of depression,” while the manner of death was ruled accidental.

Gale’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement shared on Power Trip’s Twitter on August 25. “It is with greatest of sadness we must announce that our lead singer and brother Riley Gale passed away last night,” the post read. “Riley was a friend, a brother, a son. Riley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend.”
