IDLES Share Cover of Gang of Four’s ‘Damaged Goods’

IDLES have offered their take on Gang of Four’s ‘Damaged Goods’. Produced by Kenny Beats, the cover is taken from The Problem of Leisure: A Celebration of Andy Gill and Gang of Four, an upcoming tribute album to Gang of Four and the late Andy Gill. Listen to it below.

“IDLES does not exist without Gang Of Four,” the band said in a statement. “’Damaged Goods’ still sounds new and exciting after the millionth listen. We jumped at the chance to just to play it, let alone record it. It was an honour, a joy and a privilege.”

The Problem of Leisure: A Celebration of Andy Gill and Gang of Four is set for release on June 4. It includes previously released covers by Serj Tankian and Tom Morello, Warpaint,  and others. Earlier this year, IDLES covered Sharon Van Etten’s ‘Peace Signs’.
