A previously unreleased Prince song called ‘Born 2 Die’ has been made available. The track appears on Welcome 2 America, a 23-song album Prince recorded in 2010 that will see the light of day on July 30 via Legacy. Earlier this year, Prince’s estate unveiled the album’s title track. Listen to ‘Born 2 Die’ below.
According to Prince’s musical director Morris Hayes, “[Prince] had been watching videos of his friend Dr. Cornel West on YouTube, and during one speech, Dr. West said, ‘I love my brother Prince, but he’s no Curtis Mayfield.’ So Prince said, ‘Oh, really? We will see.’”
