Clairo Announces New Album ‘Sling’, Releases New Song ‘Blouse’ Featuring Lorde

Clairo has announced her second studio album: Sling is out July 16 via FADER Label/Republic Records. The follow-up to 2019’s Immunity was written and recorded at Allaire Studios in Upstate New York and co-produced by Jack Antonoff. To accompany the announcement, Clairo has also released the album’s lead single, ‘Blouse’, which features backing vocals from Lorde (who also returned last night with her new song ‘Solar Power’, which featured Clairo as well as Phoebe Bridgers). Check it out below, along with a live performance of the new track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Clairo wrote in a statement on Twitter: “Joanie, my dog, opened up my world in ways I didn’t think were capable. By caring for her, it forced me to face my own thoughts about parenthood and what it would mean to me. stories as lessons, regrets as remorse. thinking about something/someone before yourself. It’s a glimpse into a world where I found that domesticity is what I was missing.”
