Samia has unveiled a new single, ‘As You Are’, lifted from her forthcoming EP Scout. The track arrives with an accompanying video by Joey Brodnax, who previously worked with Samia on the video for the early single ‘Show Up’. Check it out below.
“I’m used to being around lots of people all the time so a year of quarantine forced me to consider which moments were truly meaningful and with whom,” Samia said in a statement. “The chorus is a mantra and a response to the struggle to believe I’m worthy of love in a vacuum, that love can be pre-reflexive and worth our blind faith in it.”
Scout arrives July 23 via Grand Jury. Following the release of her debut album The Baby last year, Samia issued The Baby Reimagined, a collection of reworkings featuring Bartees Strange, Anjimile, and many more. Back in May, she teamed up with Wild Pink for the song ‘Ohio’.
