Yola was the musical guest on last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where she was joined by John Batiste on the piano for a stirring rendition of her single ‘Stand for Myself’. Watch the in-studio performance below.
‘Stand for Myself’ is the title track from Yola’s forthcoming Dan Auerbach-produced LP, which is due for release on July 30 via Easy Eye Sound. The song, which followed early single ‘Diamond Studded Shoes’, was co-written with Auerbach, Hannah V, and Natalie Hemby, and features The McCrary Sisters on backing vocals.
