Porridge Radio Cover The Shins’ ‘New Slang’

Porridge Radio have shared a cover of The Shins’ ‘New Slang’. The Brighton band’s rendition is the B-side to their forthcoming entry in Sub Pop’s subscription-only Singles Club, which will also feature their version of Wolf Parade’s ‘You Are A Runner And I Am My Father’s Son’, from the 2005 LP Apologies to the Queen Mary. The A-side will be available August 9. Listen to Porridge Radio’s take on ‘New Slang’ below.

Porridge Radio’s Dana Margolin said in a statement: “Sub Pop are a label I’ve loved for a long time, and when they asked if we wanted to release some songs with them this summer, I looked through their back catalog and chose 2 songs to cover that had a big impact on me as a teenager.”

Last month, Porridge Radio released a cover of Love of Everything’s ‘Happy in a Crowd’. Earlier this year, they tackled Scout Niblett’s ‘Wet Road’ as part of Secretly Canadian’s SC25 Singles campaign. The band’s sophomore album, Every Bad, came out a year ago.
