Lotic Announces New Album ‘Water’, Unveils Video for New Song

Lotic, the project of J’Kerian Morga, has announced her next album, Water. It’s set to come out on October 29 via her new label Houndstooth. Along with the announcement, Lotic has previewed the record with the new single ‘Come Unto Me’, which arrives with a corresponding video directed by Matt Lambert. Watch it below.

“1.8 million Africans died on the Middle Passage; their bodies were thrown into the Atlantic,” Lotic said in a statement about the new visual. “Had their cells been able to adapt to this new ecosystem, and thrive and multiply, perhaps a glorious new culture and history would have been possible.”

“This is the record I always wanted to write,” she added of Water. This feels like my arrival as an artist.”
