Soccer Mommy (aka Sophie Allison) has teamed up with Kero Kero Bonito for a reimagined version of her recent song ‘rom com 2004’. The track, titled ‘rom com 2021’, is the latest installment in Adult Swim’s singles series. Check it out below.
“We were very excited to be invited to work on ‘Rom Com 2021,’” Kero Kero Bonito said in a statement. “Our contributions were inspired by Bridget Jones’ Diary, late summer and UK Garage vocal manipulation.”
‘rom com 2004’, which was produced by BJ Burton, was released back in July and landed on our Best New Songs list. “I wrote this song a while back and made a poppy demo for it,” Allison said at the time. “Then I told BJ to destroy it.”
