Searows, the moniker of Kentucky-born, Oregon-raised musician Alec Duckart, has shared the new song ‘Funny’. It’s taken from his upcoming EP End of the World, which is out November 10 on Last Recordings on Earth. Take a listen below.
“It took me over two years and a lot of convincing to even consider releasing this song,” Duckard said of ‘Funny’ in a statement. “Part of my resistance to finishing it came from feeling like I’ve been writing about the same things over and over again for years now. The song is essentially about anxiety and the things you repeat to yourself to try and get out of that anxiety, which is a theme of a lot of the songs on the EP. I think the reason I keep writing about the same feelings over years of my life is the same reason they keep resonating for people. I have not figured everything out and neither has anyone else. I guess it’s comforting as both the writer and the listener to be reminded of that.”
