The Studio Season 2: Cast, Rumours & Release Date

Making a show about Hollywood is tricky. On the one hand, you want it to feel as authentic as possible, so you need at least a few recognisable figures to populate your world.

On the other, you have to poke a little fun at the absurdity of the film industry, but you don’t want it to come across as mean-spirited. Leave it to Seth Rogen to pull it off.

The Studio does all that and more. Hilarious, relevant, and perfectly cast, the series is equal parts satire and a love letter to cinema. After only two episodes, viewers can’t get it enough.

The Studio Season 2 Release Date

The series premiered on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025, with two episodes. At the time of writing, season 1 is ongoing, with a new episode coming out every Wednesday. The finale is scheduled for May 21.

While The Studio hasn’t been officially renewed for a second season just yet, the odds are in its favour. Reviews from both critics and viewers have been positive. As long as the quality keeps up, there’s a good chance it will come back.

All in all, we might get The Studio season 2 sometime in 2026, during spring or summer.

The Studio Cast

  • Seth Rogen as Matthew “Matt” Remick
  • Catherine O’Hara as Patty Leigh
  • Ike Barinholtz as Sal Seperstein
  • Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn Hackett
  • Kathryn Hahn as Maya Mason

What Will Happen in The Studio Season 2?

The Studio revolves around Matt Remick, who is appointed as head of a big Hollywood studio after his mentor gets the boot. He wants to greenlight artistic films but is constantly pressured to focus on making money. Finding a way to navigate this complicated word without losing his sanity also proves challenging, to say the least.

The series, co-created by star Seth Rogen, has been getting rave reviews thanks to its charming cast, attention to detail, and unabashed love for the art of filmmaking. While its target audience is film people, the show’s humour will draw anyone in, especially if you’re a fan of controlled chaos.

With the first season ongoing, it’s difficult to speculate what might happen in The Studio season 2. Based on the episode titles, the first installment will cover big events like The Golden Globes and CinemaCon. We would love if the show aimed even bigger later on. Perhaps tackle The Oscars?

Another great thing about The Studio are its cameos from real-life figures. In the first two episodes, the series already had Martin Scorsese, Greta Lee, Charlize Theron, and Steve Buscemi play themselves. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this trend will continue in upcoming seasons.

Are There Other Shows Like The Studio?

While there’s nothing that really balances satire with heart so expertly, you have some choice when it comes to series that tackle the entertainment industry.

Entourage is a classic, but the list doesn’t end there. We also recommend checking out The Other Two, The Franchise, The Offer, Episodes, Extras, and Californication.
