Post Animal Reunite With Djo’s Joe Keery for New Album ‘IRON’, Share New Song

Before his star-making turn as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, Joe Keery, who makes music as Djo, played in the Chicago psych-rock band Post Animal. Almost a decade after his departure, he’s reunited with the group for their new album IRON, which is due for release on July 25. It’s led by the breezy new single ‘Last Goodbye’. Check it out and find the album cover and tracklist below.

IRON was written and produced by the five members of Post Animal and Keery. It was engineered by Dalton Allison and Charles Glanders, mixed by Djo co-producer Adam Thein and Post Animal’s Dalton Allison, and mastered by Jared Hirshland. “This record felt like a revitalization of our friendships and our band,” Hirshland commented. “We always work collaboratively, but it’s amazing how reintroducing Joe into the mix brought back that dynamic from 2017.”

“We’re having fun making things that we’re proud of. It’s a more mature period for us as collaborators and as friends,” Javier Reyes shared. “We’re all vibing with each other creatively, enjoying the momentum and our friendship.” Dalton Allison added: “All of these creative forces coming together, it was like iron sharpening iron. When we’re in proximity with one another, we make each other better.”

Post Animal are currently on a sold-out US tour with Djo, who released his new album The Crux earlier this month. Today, they’ve also announced a five-piece headline tour beginning in November.
