Vines – the project of Brooklyn artist Cassie Wieland – has announced her debut album, I’ll be here. Following 2023’s Birthday Party EP, the 10-track effort will be released on July 18. On the mesmerizing lead single ‘Evicted’, Wieland repeats the questions, “Am I getting sick/ Or am I over it/ Am I being born/ Or just evicted,” piling one sonic layer after another. “‘Evicted’ is the first song with lyrics that I wrote for this record,” Wieland explained in a statement. “It’s about going through a transitional period in your life and not knowing where it’s going. I’m reflecting on the insecurity and discomfort that can come with healing.”
