Path of Exile 2 is set to roll out its 0.3 patch update called “The Third Edict.” This major update from Grinding Gear Games will introduce a fresh content expansion.
More concretely, the patch includes an all-new campaign act, additional side content, a new story, and a variety of areas to explore. Players can also expect expanded endgame activities, the introduction of an asynchronous trade system, and a significant gameplay overhaul.
In line with this, the latest update of Path of Exile 2 seemingly promises to reshape core mechanics. At the same time, the Third Edict gives players a rich taste of what version 1.0 could deliver.
According to reports from IGN and UnGeek, patch 0.3 is set to deliver thrills and excitement to the fans of the game.
Continue the Journey with Act Four
Patch 0.3 resumes the story of Path of Exile 2 by introducing Act Four. Players will join Doryani in finding a powerful ancient weapon that is capable of destroying the Beast. The quest takes players to the eight islands of the Ngamakanui archipelago. Likewise, Act Four is going to introduce more than 100 new monster types, 12 new bosses, and 16 more areas. More importantly, the brand-new act is non-linear. This allows players to take on the islands and challenges in any order.
Meanwhile, the developers swapped the Cruel Difficulty with three Interlude acts. From helping Renly in Ogham to finding the lost Vaal descendants, this set of side stories helps players reach level 65. They also bridge the gap to endgame content.
Battle Forces in the Rise of the Abyssals League
Grinding Gear Games is rolling out Rise of the Abyssals. It is the first full league of Path of Exile 2. Specifically, this pits players against necromantic Abyssal forces that came from fissures in Wraeclast. Also, gamers can earn powerful rewards, craft Abyssal magic, and face deadly bosses as they close Abysses. Due to the changes, free passive tree refunds are granted for all returning Early Access characters.
Endgame Additions Streamline Difficulty and Rewards
The latest update revamps the endgame of Path of Exile 2. It is introducing Splinter-based access to Pinnacle Content with adjustable difficulty costs. Additionally, the Arbiter of Ash gains new static and Uber fight modes. At the same time, Waystone modifiers are reworked to balance risk and reward.
Other Major Changes
Patch 0.3 improves the Support Gem system, removing some restrictions and allowing build customization. Moreover, players can now make purchases even if the seller is offline through asynchronous trade.
Release Date
Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict will drop on August 29, 2025. The patch goes live at 1:00 PM PT / 4:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM BST.
