The official trailer for The Moment, the new A24 movie starring and conceived by Charli XCX, has arrived. The Aidan Zamiri-directed film premieres at Sundance next month, and the trailer frames it essentially as a mockumentary. Charli XCX plays a fictionalized version of herself as she “navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut,” according to the official tagline. Alexander Skarsgård plays the director hired to make her concert film, and the cast of friends and influencers that surround her include Hailey Benton Gates, Kate Berlant, Jaime Demetriou, Kylie Jenner, Isaac Powell, and Rachel Sennott. The Moment is one of three Charli XCX films premiering at Sundance Film Festival, the other two being Olivia Wilde’s The Gallerist and Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex. The pop star has also been releasing songs from the soundtrack of the upcoming Emerald Fennell-directed adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights.
