Grandaddy

Grandaddy is an indie rock band that was formed in Modesto, California in 1992 by singer/guitarist Jason Lytle, bassist Kevin Garcia, and drummer Aaron Burtch. A lo-fi approach marked early recordings like 1994’s Complex Party Come Along Theories, though the band’s sound expanded following the additions of guitarist Jim Fairchild and keyboardist Tim Dryden in 1995. After several self-released records and cassettes, the band released their debut full-length album Under the Western Freeway in 1997 via Will Records. Grandaddy released three more studio albums before splitting in 2006. They reformed in 2012 and released a new album, Last Place, in March 2017. Their sixth LP, Blu Wav, is out in February 2024.
