Mdou Moctar is a five-piece consisting of singer and lead guitarist Mdou Moctar, rhythm guitarist Ahmoudou Madassane, drummer Souleymane Ibrahim, and American producer and bassist Mikey Coltun. Ilana: The Creator, Moctar’s first to feature a full band, came out in 2019 and was followed two years later by their breakout LP and Matador debut, Afrique Victime.
