Below, check out our track roundup for Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Dead Man’s Bones – ‘Lost in the Night’

After a bit of teasing, Dead Man’s Bones’s first new music in 17 years has arrived. The duo of Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields produced the shadowy ‘Lost in the Night’ with their longtime collaborator Tim Anderson. After trying several studios in Los Angeles, the band took two guitars, two drum machines, and two synthesizers to a farm outside the city and tracked the new song in a day. It comes paired with an equally dreamy black-and-white music video starring Noah Jupe and Rain Spencer.

Chvrches – ‘Overthinker’

Chvrches have previewed their recently announced album All the King’s Men with the meditative yet vibrant ‘Overthinker’. “Should I lie to you, keep my thoughts from you?” Lauren Mayberry sings on the track. “You ask after my friends, if I’m getting thinner, not sure how you raised such a chronic overthinker.”

Mia Joy – ‘Wings of Desire’

Mia Joy has returned with news of her sophomore album, Star Echo Heavy Dove, arriving January 15 via Fire Talk. It’s led by the mesmerizing single ‘Wings of Desire’, whose accompanying video, helmed by drummer Jordan Nelson, nods to Joy’s love of the Wim Wenders film of the same name. “Seeing Wenders’ film for the first time helped me move internal static to words — one of those seminal moments in life where what you’re watching mirrors life so dearly my only way to resolve myself was to write this song,” Joy explained. “I’m gravitated to lonely characters, solitude, longing. One of Star Echo Heavy Dove’s motifs is centered around balancing the tug of war between feeling satisfaction with being self-sufficient and the willingness to give that up for the vulnerability of expanding desire. There’s a great message in there about living for all that life offers, letting yourself go even if you end up bleeding.”

MJ Lenderman – ‘Weakened’ (Lambchop Cover)

Lambchop has announced an EP of demo covers of songs from his latest LP Punching the Clown. Circuit des Yeux and Alan Sparhawk, Flock of Dimes, Lauren Auder, and more eaze are among the artists who contributed to the collection, which is led today by MJ Lenderman’s stellar rendition of ‘Weakened’. Fog’s Andrew Broder produced the cover.

Factory Floor – ‘One Trip’ and ‘Continuation’

Factory Floor are back. The UK electronic trio – with original members Gabe Gurnsey and Nik Colk Void joined by Joe Ward on additional percussion – will release their first album in a decade, One Trip, on November 27. Today, they’ve shared two singles, ‘Continuation’ and the title track. The group returned in 2024 with a performance at Mutek Festival, after which, they explained in a press release, “We felt an appetite to work in a space where artists could connect emotionally and physically, both in the studio and on a live stage. These environments hold more than sound; they carry a visceral energy that comes from being together. It’s something we’d really missed as solo artists, and it made us want to explore that kind of experience again.”

Heartworms – ‘Guess I’m Stuck In The Dark’

Heartworms is back with a new single, the eerily propulsive ‘Guess I’m Stuck In The Dark’, via Speedy Wunderground/Distiller. “‘Guess I’m Stuck In The Dark’ is about how our minds begin to deceive us when we’re left in the dark, conjuring up fears that only appear in moments of insecurity,” Jojo Orme explained. “But also leaning into that, and trying to party alongside it.”

Ex:Re – ‘Am I Even Real?’

Ahead of the release of the new Ex:Re album Save As on Friday, Daughter’s Elena Tonra has shared one more single from the project. The head-spinning ‘Am I even Real?’ began as a “really slow, really sad song,” Tonra recalled. “Then one day we thought, ‘What would happen if we just…’ and we started playing the chorus really fast.”

Nine Perfect Lives – ‘Die’

Nine Perfect Lives, the new project helmed by Hello Mary members Stella Wave and Helena Straight – have signed to AD 93. The announcement comes with the release of their striking debut single, ‘Die’, and its haunting Milo Hume-directed video. “I started writing ‘Die’ when I was living in LA and Stella was still in Brooklyn,” Straight explained. “We made deliberate efforts to stay in touch and work on music but I wasn’t yet sure when or if I was moving back to New York. I wrote and recorded a demo of the song in a few hours and realized that it was a direct response to Stella’s heartbreak and confusion about my impulsive move across the country. Fleshing out the demo together felt effortless and reinforced our creative bond which was compromised in the context of Hello Mary at that time. ‘Die’ became the first NPL song so we are pleased for it to be our first single.”

thredd – ‘Swimming’

thredd – the collaborative project of musicians Will Lister, Max Winter, and Imogen and The Knife – have dropped a hooky, alluring new single, ‘Swimming’, via Scenic Route. The band commented: “‘Party’s lighter younger sister who just wants the city to carry her through the night. Swimming from gig to bar to club. It essentially documents a two man charge (swim) through London. getting silly, getting swimmy.”

The Healing Power of Horses – ‘xstick_xstick’

Having recently signed to section1, East Anglian duo The Healing Power of Horses have shared an exhilarating new single, ‘xstick_xstick’. It leads their forthcoming EP 8725, which is out December 2. “Number 8725 is ‘Ithpea’  or ‘Imperfect’ in the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew & English Bible Lexicon and it is also the amount of songs we have left on a Samsung T5 1GB Portable SSD,” the group said. “This time we spent summer outdoors, but not in the way you think. Time is so short, Autumn has drawn in and we’re beside ourselves with laughter. These songs are an angel gift to you the listener. Won’t someone buy us a Tiffany lamp?”

Trinket – ‘If Not Soon Then Now’

Brooklyn band Trinket have signed to Take Care Records, marking the announcement with the hypnotic, deceptively breezy new track ‘If Not Soon Then Now’. “This song is very directly about starting a relationship with someone new; it’s exciting, but you quickly realize that insecurities, fears, and things you’ve dealt with in past relationships don’t go away just because you’ve started over,” the band explained. “It’s also about having something that you’re excited about and are scared you’re going to ruin it with those insecurities. It’s almost like just the fear of it makes your worries come true.”
