With their latest tour on the way Canshaker Pi’s guitarist Boris de Klerk joined us for an interview to talk about them and their great music.

    Hi, how are you guys?

    We’re doing great, thanks!

So, how did you come up with the name Canshaker Pi?

We texted around some idea’s for bandnames and then Willem came up with Canshaker Pi more or less out of the blue. And it felt good (and still does) so we stuck with it.

How did you come about forming the band?

We all know each other through high school, and we were already good friends and we all liked music, so we started making music together.

Do you have anything exciting in the works?

We’re doing a lot of shows this summer, including some UK shows, which is very exciting to us. We’ve also been working on a second album, which is going quite well!

Outside of music do you have any hobbies that you like to escape to?

We’re all into a lot of stuff, like movies, theatre, and basically just hanging out in and around Amsterdam.

Describe your music in one word.

    Eventful.

    Describe yourselves in one word.

    Salable.

If you could give any advice to any aspiring musicians out there what would it be?

    Be Pip Blom.

What is your definition of culture?

A collective name for everything a group of people do to express themselves.
