Osees Detail New Album ‘Protean Threat’, Share New Track

Oh Sees, previously known as Thee Oh Sees and now simply Osees, have announced a new album called Protean Threat. It arrives September 18 via Castle Face. John Dwyer’s prolific garage rock band also shared the album’s lead single, ‘Dreary Nonsense’. Check it out below, and scroll for the album’s cover artwork and tracklist.

The announcement for the 13-track LP included a long statement in all caps calling to “witness the ever-changing, ever-mutating threat that is reality” and “look into the mirror of the planet-killers”. Read the full statement below (via Under the Radar).

Osees are also planning to head on a European tour this November. Check out the full dates below and find tickets here.

The band have released three albums in the last three years: 2017’s Orc, 2018’s Smote Reverser, and last year’s Face Stabber. Earlier this year, Dwyer put out an album with his experimental acid-folk solo project Damaged Bugg, called Bug on Yonkers. He also recently announced the formation of a new “improvised jazz fusion” supergroup called Bent Arcana, whose self-titled debut is out August 21st.

    WHAT FUELS DISCORD AND HATRED?
THE BEHEMOTH OF A “CIVIL” SOCIETY?
WHAT ARE THE WEAPONS AT OUR DISPOSAL?

TO STAND UP AND BE VIGILANT
TRUTH WILL NOT BE FOUND IN THE SPEECHES AND PHOTO OPS OF YOUR OVERLORDS
STAND STRONG AND TOGETHER UNDER THE GAZE OF YOUR OPPRESSORS
STAND VIGILANT, UNITED WITH THOSE WHO DON’T HAVE THE SAME PRIVILEGE AS YOU.
