Watch St. Vincent Cover the Beatles’ ‘Martha My Dear’

St. Vincent performed a cover of the Beatles’ 1968 song ‘Martha My Dear’ as part of The Ally Coalition’s 7th Annual Talent Show. Check it out below.

The event, which was livestreamed for free on Jack Antonoff’s Twitch account, raised money for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in America. Hayley Williams, Sleater-Kinney, Brittany Howard, Lana Del Rey, Clairo, and Shamir were among the artists who appeared during the stream, which also featured short bits from comedians including Reggie Watts, Aidy Bryant, and Mike Birbiglia.

St. Vincent recently revealed in a tweet that she has a new album “locked and loaded for 2021.” In an interview with MOJO, she described the follow-up to 2017’s MASSEDUCTION as a “tectonic shift,” adding, “I felt I had gone as far as I could possibly go with angularity. I was interested in going back to the music I’ve listened to more than any other—Stevie Wonder records from the early ’70s, Sly and the Family Stone. I studied at the feet of those masters.”
