Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall follows Sandra (Sandra Hüller), a German writer accused of killing her husband, Samuel (Samuel Theis), who is found dead in the snow outside the family’s chalet. In the film, we observe the trial, her troubled past relationship, and the forming and deteriorating relationship between Sandra and her son, Daniel (Milo Machado Graner).
Upon its release, Anatomy of a Fall received critical acclaim and received seven BAFTA nominations including for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Leading Actress.
