Nick Cave and Warren Ellis Release ‘Song for Amy’ From ‘Back to Black’

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have released ‘Song for Amy’, which they wrote for the new Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black. Listen to it below.

Cave and Ellis composed and recorded the film’s score. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson said in a statement that they were “the only musicians in my mind to score Back to Black,” adding, “Over the years, I’ve listened to everything they’ve composed and longed to realize the dream of working together. Their sensibility as well as understanding of this story has led to a profoundly deep and moving film score.”

‘Song for Amy’ will appear on Back To Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture, which is out May 17 via UMR/Island Records. The film is out now in UK theaters.

Last month, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds announced a new album, Wild God, which was produced by Cave and Ellis and arrives on August 30.
