Sufjan Stevens Announces 20th Anniversary Reissue of ‘Seven Swans’

Asthmatic Kitty has announced a 20th anniversary deluxe edition of Sufjan Stevens’ fourth album, Seven Swans. The reissue will be available on a variety of physical formats, including a zoetrope picture disc edition as well as on silver and split-colored vinyl. The LP is accompanied by a flexi-disc featuring the B-sides ‘I Went Dancing With My Sister’ and ‘Waste of What Your Kids Won’t Have’, which will also appear on the digital version for the first time.

Rather than producing the album himself at home, Seven Swans saw Stevens working with Daniel Smith, the leader of the folk collective Danielson Famile. They laid down the songs at Smith’s home studio in Clarksboro, New Jersey.

Stevens released his latest album, Javelin, last October.
