Pittsburgh-based artist Merce Lemon has announced a new album, Watch Me Drive Them Dogs Wild. It’s due to arrive on September 27 via Darling Recordings. Lead single ‘Backyard Lover’ is out today, and you can listen to it below.
“So many of my songs are touched by and explore death specifically in relation to the loss I experienced of my best friend when I was fifteen years old,” Lemon said of ‘Backyard Lver’ in a statement. “That loss has forever changed me and who I am in my relationships to lovers, friends, family.”
‘Backyard Lover’ follows this year’s standalone single ‘Will You Do Me A Kindness’, one of our Songs of the Week. Merce Lemon’s previous album was 2020’s Moonth.
