Earlier this week, Katy Perry announced her new album, 143, which will drop on September 20 via Capitol. “I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,” Perry said of the follow-up to 2020’s Smile. She co-wrote the lead single, ‘Woman’s World’,, out today, with songwriter Chloe Angelides and producers Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Vaughn Oliver, Rocco Did It Again!, and Aaron Joseph. Dr. Luke ws a close collaborator with Perry between 2008-2013, but she hasn’t worked with him since Kesha accused him of abuse in a 2014 lawsuit. (The producer has denied the allegations, and he and Kesha settled their legal battle last year.) A few hours after Perry’s album announcement, Kesha seemingly responded to Dr. Luke’s involvement by tweeting, “lol.”
