Lucius Share Cover of Filter’s ‘Take a Picture’

Lucius have shared a cover of Filter’s 1999 hit ‘Take a Picture’. It’s taken from 3Sirens Music Group’s upcoming ’90s covers compilation Every Possible Way, which will be released on December 13 to help raise awareness for gun violence prevention. Listen to Lucius’ take on ‘Take a Picture’ below.

Every Possible Way is curated and produced by Dan Molad, who is also the drummer for Lucius. “I’ve been collaborating with Alyssa, Doug, and 3 Sirens for over six years now,” he said in a press release. “Alyssa has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever met, and she’s insatiably ambitious. When Alyssa approached me to produce a compilation for 3Sirens, I jumped at the opportunity. After some discussion, it quickly became clear that a 90s alternative music compilation would be an exciting and appropriate direction to take.”

“When it came time to find a charity, choosing something related to gun violence felt like the most natural and appropriate choice for the whole team,” Molad added. “Guns cause undeniable devastation, especially in this country. Through new renditions of these timeless songs, we hope to generate a little more attention towards this cause.”

“When Danny asked us to be part of this project, it was without question that we supported this cause,” Lucius’ Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe commented. “We knew with him being involved that it would be a fun collection of covers reimagined by brilliant friends and peers. We recorded this track because it was one of those nostalgic songs from youth that we’d bonded over and played on many a tour van playlist in our early years of touring. Our own journeys through and into motherhood—we were both pregnant when we recorded this!—really bring home the reality and the importance of our children’s safety and the need to end gun violence in our country. We will continue to support the important work that Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund is doing for our future.”
