After nearly two years and 149 performances, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour (December 8) came to an end last night (December 8) at Vancouver’s BC Place. According to The New York Times, reporting via the musician’s production company, Taylor Swift Touring, the trek grossed $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales. That’s double the sales of any other concert tour in history, including Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour, which raked in $1 billion across its 156 shows.
Swift kicked off the Eras Tour in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. Last December, the tour was estimated to have brought in $1 billion, though no specific numbers were reported at the time. A total of 10,168,008 people attended the tour across the world, and with such high demand, each seat, on average, went for about $204.
According to People, Swift also handed out $197 million in bonuses to tour employees on top of their regular salaries, including “truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team.”
