Alan Sparhawk has released a new single, ‘Not Broken’, from his upcoming album With Trampled by Turtles. It’s more wistful than lead cut ‘Stranger’, which landed on our best songs of March, and the interplay between Sparhawk’s voice and his daughter, Hollis, should tie a knot in your throat. “It’s not broken, I’m not angry,” they sing. With Trampled by Turtles is set for release on May 30 via Sub Pop. Sparhawk recorded the follow-up to 2024’s White Roses, My God with fellow Duluth musicians Trampled by Turtles at the end of 2023 at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls.
