It wouldn’t be a racing game without some sweet rides, and like its 2003 predecessor, Kirby Air Riders gives you over 20 unlockable Air Ride machines, or simply vehicles, that you can race or show off. As you’d expect, every machine in Kirby Air Riders has its own style and stats and just like with character unlocks, you’ll need to complete the challenges in the checklist achievement list to unlock all the different machines in the game, or if you don’t mind splurging, buy them outright from the shop using your Miles. Kirby Air Riders: How to Unlock All the Machines
There are 28 unlockable machines in Kirby Air Riders, three of which are available right from the start, namely, Warp Star, Winged Star, and Wagon Star. Unlike the first game, you can now exit your ride and board other machines, with each machine’s stats affecting performance depending on the character you use. Moreover, each machine comes with its own set of stats that’ll affect gameplay, and each mode has its own lineup of machines and different ways of unlocking them.
For example, if you want something fast, Turbo Star is a great option, while Rex Wheelie or Bull Tank better fit the bill for battling. You can view the challenge-based unlocks in the Checklist menu by pressing ‘ZL’ in the character selector, or if you prefer to buy the machines with Miles, you can do so once they are available in the Miles Shop by heading into the in-game store via the ‘ZR’ button or through the Collections menu. How to Unlock Jet Star in Kirby Air Riders
Jet Star can be unlocked by getting struck by lightning after straying too far from Skyah’s edges in Road Trip mode, or by riding a total of 5,469 yards during Stadium challenges (obviously, the latter is easier). Jet Star costs 6,600 Miles if purchased from the Miles Store.
How to Unlock Formula Star in Kirby Air Riders
To unlock Formula Star, finish the Galactic Nova Air Ride course without touching the energy columns around Nova’s core. You can also unlock it by completing a Top Ride race without crashing into walls, or purchase it outright for 14,400 Miles.
How to Unlock Bulk Star in Kirby Air Riders
To unlock Bulk Star, break three pieces of cargo on the conveyor belts in Air Ride’s Steamgust Forge course, or use eight attack items in one single City Trial race on the Field course. Bulk Star can also be purchased for 5,200 Miles.
How to Unlock Hop Star in Kirby Air Riders
You can unlock Hop Star by flying over the wall to the road leading to the castle in Air Ride mode (Checker Knights course), or by jumping 10 times during Top Ride challenges in Road Trip mode. Hop Star is available in the Miles Shop for 6,900 Miles.
